| The Friends of Holy Trinity
Church was founded in 2002 to safeguard the future of 'the country church
in the middle of a city'. Money needs to be raised to preserve the fabric
of the church (and any other church property), and to maintain the churchyard
in a manner worthy of our forebears who created a unique focal point in Headington
Quarry. The money raised will provide an additional source of funding for
the church. The task of the Friends is not to pay 'housekeeping' bills,
i.e. lighting, heating and general running costs; these will continue to
be met by the congregation. At present, building repairs and general maintenance
cost about £15,000 per annum. Please share in preserving this special building. A Prayer
Loving Father, we give you thanks for all those who over generations have used their practical and artistic skills to make this church a place of spiritual discovery, renewal and healing. Look with favour upon us who have pledged to befriend this holy house, that we also may have our part in the work wrought here for your glory. Grant that, through the power of your Holy Spirit, we may grow in love for you and for our neighbours, so that this building may become and ever remain an open door between heaven and earth, showing your love to all. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. |
